FC Platinum and warriors midfielder Ali Sadiki was today summoned to the Harare civil court by his ex-wife who is claiming $1 117 for the upkeep of their daughter and maintenance of her (wife) eight-months pregnancy.

Sharon Chimwanza told the court that the footballer was not taking care of her eight-months pregnancy and their daughter.

"We stayed together for seven-years and now he is neglecting and refusing to maintain his child who is now in grade zero despite having the ability to do so. He has also neglected to cater for the welfare of his unborn child as I am eight-months pregnant.

"I want him to pay $600 for me and $517 for the upkeep of his child and I know he is capable of paying that amount because he plays soccer for FC Platinum where he earns $800 on each match won as bonus.

"He also plays for the national squad where he gets paid $800 together with camping allowance. He was recently in Malawi with the national team where he got paid $800.

"He earns $800 per month and is able to pay $1117," she said.

Responding to the claims Sadiki asked the court to give him time to go back to his club in Zvishavane to look for money to engage a lawyer in the case.

"I have just arrived today from Zvishavane after she served me with the court papers. I need time to go back to my club and look for money to hire a lawyer to represent me in this case," he said.

Magistrate Mr Tafadzwa  Muvhami deferred the matter to next week Tuesday for continuation.
