A Gweru woman has landed in hot soup after assaulting her maid who was doubling as her husband and son's lover.
Kerina Moyo, 43, told magistrate Taruvinga that her former maid, Mody Togarepi was having an intimate affair with both her son, Perfect Khumalo and husband, Mthandazo Moyo.
She told the court that she was supplied with the information by her two children aged 11 and five respectively.
Her spouse, who was madly in love with his maid, decided to sacrifice a wedding ring he got from his wife to reveal his love and weld ties between the two.
The complaint had promised to give Mthandazo a child in return.
Unfortunately, the sad love story, which left Mthandazo disappointed upon the discovery that he was having an extra-marital affair with a woman who was also bedding his son, made him reclaim everything he bought for her.
Kerina who was investigating the matter on her own saw Mody wearing her husband's wedding ring. She assaulted her and took the ring from her. Mody reported the matter to the police on the same day.
The court, led by Pearson Muringani, heard on March 1, 2014 Moyo of 1465 Mkoba 3, Gweru, beat up his wife in a domestic dispute and shoved her to the ground.
He also took her Nokia X2, a purse containing underwear, one dark blue skin tight, a light blue skin tight and a yellow T-shirt.
Four days later, Moyo hit the complainant with an iron bar on the right thigh and assaulted Togarepi's sister with an iron bar. The accused also pulled the complainant's sister's platted weave with intention of causing bodily harm.
The matter was remanded to April 24.
Moyo was represented by Herbert Marava of Danziger and Partners.
