Parliament: Heated debate on corruption

There was heated debate in Parliament on Tuesday when members tackled the issue of corruption.
Members of Parliament agreed that the malpractice is a cancer that should be dealt with decisively by all the arms of state.
The legislators expressed willingness to see corruption being tackled with some suggesting that those who violated corporate governance ethics be held accountable.
The motion on the lack of implementation of the 2012 Corporate Governance Framework was originally moved by Kambuzuma legislator Willas Madzimure.
Mutasa South legislator Irene Zindi further moved that Parliament appoint an adhoc committee to inquire into and recommend measures to restore corporate governance and investigate cases of corruption in public entities.
