No visas for Zimbabweans travelling to Botswana

The Botswana government Friday clarified there was no need for Zimbabweans to get visas when travelling to the neighbouring country.
There was confusion on Friday after the Botswana government posted on its website new fees for visa requirements and some Zimbabweans mistook that to mean they would now be required to part with P500 to get a Botswana visa.
In an interview, the ministry of Labour and Home Affairs assistant Communications manager Letso Mpho, said no visa requirements had been put in place for Zimbabweans wishing to travel to Botswana.
"Yes we circulated a press statement outlining new visa regulations, but the regulations were not for Zimbabwe. They were for countries that were already on the list requiring a visa to enter into our country (sic)," he said.
Mpho said the confusion could have come up because the press statement had not specified the countries concerned.
