A CHITUNGWIZA woman approached the Chitungwiza civil court seeking a peace order against her husband's married girlfriend accusing her of causing unrest to her family.

Rosemary Mumba told magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa that Chiedza Gwanzura was having an affair with her husband and comes to their matrimonial and in-laws' houses to insult them.

She said Gwanzura was married, but was in the habit of claiming to several men from their neighbourhood that they were the fathers of her baby. Mumba alleged that Gwanzura dumped her minor child at her house.

"She phones me and comes to my house and goes to my father-in-law's house just to insult us or cause a scene," said Mumba.

"At one time she dumped her baby at my house claiming it to be my husband's yet she also goes to other wives in my neighbourhood claiming that their husbands are also the fathers of that same child."

But Gwanzura had this to say: "I visit her residence because that is where the father of my baby stays and he is the one who tells me to come and collect money from their residents".

Magistrate Gofa granted Mumba the peace order.

"There is a breach of peace and there is need to safeguard it and, respondent, you are not to dump your baby at her house, not to call or insult her," she said in her ruling.
