The MDC-T says it will boycott any future by-elections on the pretext that it wants electoral laws amended before taking part in any polls.

As per its custom, the MDC-T has abandoned participation in the council by-elections which it says are useless and nonsensical, calling for a host of electoral reforms.

Addressing an MDC-T rally in Kuwadzana the party's Organising Secretary, Nelson Chamisa blamed his party's loss in the 2013 harmonised election on the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) and the ruling party, Zanu-PF, adding that the MDC-T will abstain from polls until there is new ZEC.

"There is no need for us to participate in elections that don't give us favourable results. What we want is to have a new electoral board that is independent, that will avail an electronic voters roll and enable automatic registration of all Zimbabweans over 18 years," said Chamisa.

Chamisa said expelled Deputy Treasurer General, Elton Mangoma is day dreaming that he will remain in the party after its national council expelled him last week.

He added that Mangoma should stay put at his house, adding the MDC-T leader, Morgan Tsvangirai, who he described as the main actor in a movie, will remain the party's leader.
