A woman accused of biting a portion of her husband's manhood in a farm ownership row, appeared at the Harare Civil Court yesterday.

Stella Mushayakurima, stood quietly in the dock as her husband Briston alleged she bit his manhood during an altercation.

The husband was seeking a protection order against her.

He told magistrate Gamuchirai Siwardi that what precipitated the row was his wife's move to replace his name on the farm ownership papers.

"I have no peace in my own house and at my workplace because of this woman," he said.

"We had an argument about the ownership of our farm and she bit my manhood and I sustained injuries. I reported the matter to the police and they asked for evidence and I showed them the injuries and the torn trousers I was wearing on the day of the incident. The police were shocked."

It was not clear why police did not charge her with assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. But he told the court that he had moved from his home.

"I am now living in a garage at my workplace where I have sought refuge because of this woman," the distraught husband said.

Stella refuted her husband's allegations and told the court that her husband had neglected his duties as a father and had moved in with another woman.

"I went to his workplace because he was not fending for his children and he is now staying with another woman whom he told me is his beloved wife," argued the wife, before producing a photo of the alleged new wife.

"This man assaults me to an extent of stripping me n*ked in front of the children. The reason why I went to his workplace was to ask for money to support his family."

Magistrate Siwardi dismissed the application for a protection order.

"Applicant has failed to prove that he was abused but instead the respondent is the one who proved that she was abused," Siwardi said.
