President Robert Mugabe has told European countries to keep "their" homosexuals and not export them to Zimbabwe because he did not "fight for this Zimbabwe so it can be a homosexual territory."
Mugabe said this addressing a capacity crowd of over 60 000 people at the National Sports Stadium and live to the nation on live television and radio broadcast to mark the 34th Independence anniversary of the country. Speaking in an hour and a half long address much of which was aside his prepared speech, Mugabe warned the European countries of a fall in diplomatic relations if any of their ambassadors in Zimbabwe ever speaks for the promotion of homosexual activities in the country.
"This nonsense from Europe, let Europe keep their homosexual nonsense there and not cross over with it. We did not fight for this Zimbabwe so it can be a homosexual territory, No!!! We will never have that here," said Mugabe.
"..and if there are any diplomats who will talk of homosexuality just tell me we will kick them out of the country without any excuse, we won't even listen," added the president.
Mugabe urged Zimbabweans not to involve in homosexuality and make more people as the land still has an abundance of land to settle people.
"Our country has only 14 million people, we still have lots more open space we have even reserved land for animals and we can make more land available for the people"
President Mugabe castigated European countries for calling the homosexuality case as a human rights issue saying it is an inhuman act and can never be challenged at all cost as a human rights infringement.
"If you pass a law that rejects homosexual activities we will punish you as it is done in Uganda and here....that act is inhuman and can not be claimed as a human right," said Mugabe sighting jurisprudence at law as declining the validity of claims for homosexual rights as a human right.
Mugabe is on record for completely standing against gays and lesbians in Zimbabwe. The constitution of Zimbabwe Section 78 (3) specifically prohibits same sex marriages and Zimbabwe is amongst several third world countries at logger heads with European and America countries for standing against homosexual activities.
