President Robert Mugabe has warned Zimbabweans against promiscuity to reduce the scrounge of the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

Speaking at the National Sports Stadium in Harare on 34th Independence day, Mugabe warned Zimbabweans to desist from sleeping around with many partners as it increases the spread of AIDS saying Zimbabweans must leave the sleeping around behaviour to Morgan Tsvangirai "who knows it best."

"Izvizvekungoti apa wabata apa wabata apa wabata apa wabata zvisiirei vanaTsvangirai ndivo vanozvigonha," (leave the sleeping around to Morgan Tsvangirai who knows it best) said Mugabe.

Mugabe was speaking on the state of the country's health delivery service promising Zimbabweans that his government is in the process of setting up more health centres country wide. He urged Zimbabweans to constantly go for medical check ups even when they are not sick to ensure that their health is attended to constantly as he does to himself.

Mugabe encourage Zimbabweans to stick to their marriages and remain faithfully to their partners to reduce the AIDS epidemic. Mugabe's statement on Tsvangirai is a clear reference to MDC T President Morgan Tsvangirai who in the recent past was involved in several sexual relations with numerous women within and outside the country.

Mugabe further castigated the violence in the MDC T saying that the police will always be on guard to deal with any acts of political violence with or outside political parties. Mugabe castigated the MDC T for what he called the denial of its members to express their right to freedom of expression and democracy. In a shocking stance, President Mugabe appeared to be praising the MDC T renewal team for their call for the removal of Morgan Tsvangirai as President of the MDC T.

On the economic recovery path which the MDC T and other opposition parties have been blaming ZANU PF for failing, Mugabe urged Zimbabweans to back the ZIMASSET economic blue print. Mugabe said ZIMASSET was the only way that the country can find itself pulling out of the economic downfall it is facing.

Mugabe assured the gathering and the nation that his party ZANU PF will ensure delivery of all the promises they made in their election manifesto. He assured the nation that his government is still committed to its promise to providing all workers, both in public or private sector a minimum wage above the poverty datum line.

On the education sector, Mugabe indicated that his government is committed to making sure that every Zimbabwean child is guaranteed education without prejudice. At independence Zimbabwe was ranked as the best country in terms of literacy in Africa a position which the country continues to lose as the years go by.

On infrastructure development, President Mugabe said his government was currently involved in a programme to rehabilitate the country's highways to address the increase in road accidents on the country's roads. He also indicated that work was at advanced stages in revamping all the country's airports but was quick to mention that the National Railways of Zimbabwe needs very urgent attention as it is in a very appalling state.

Mugabe said all this castigating the opposition parties who have been accusing him and his party for rigging the July 31 elections. He told the crowd in a huge cheer that the opposition parties were just making claims of election rigging which they were failing to substantiate. The country's economy has however been on a serious decline since the elections with over 150 companies closing business since then and banks continuously running out of cash straining the average Zimbabwean.
