AN MDC-T faction within the Masvingo provincial executive linked to the renewal team calling for party leader Morgan Tsvangirai's ouster, has demanded an audience with the former prime minister.

Speaking at a recently held management committee meeting, provincial party secretary Tongai Matutu demanded that the standing committee, Tsvangirai and national organiser Nelson Chamisa should meet them without fail.

"There is debate going on with lower structures and the press about the position of the party; where it is going concerning the suspensions and counter suspensions," Matutu said.

"We have proposed that a full provincial executive meeting be convened on May 10 and we shall invite national leadership from the president right up to any member of the standing committee. If members of the standing committee are committed, we ask without excuse if possible the attendance of the president of the MDC-T together with Chamisa, because we believe the president is the one who is able to give the way forward in terms of what is happening in the party. He should give us a clear briefing of where the party is going," Matutu added.

He said Chamisa would be able to explain what was going on within the structures to ensure that the democratic movement was not abandoned.
