MDC-T politician Job Sikhala has advised his party to plan knowing that former Reserve Bank governor Gideon Gono is part of President Robert Mugabe's succession plan with First Lady Grace Mugabe pushing for his ascendance.
Sikhala made sensational claims to the effect that the Central Intelligence Organisation was working to make the First Lady Zanu PF women's league boss replacing Women Affairs minister Oppah Muchinguri.
"When l predicted that Gideon Gono was in Mugabe's plans some time last year many people didn't understand, the grounds with which l was basing my argument. But it was my total collection of the intelligence l gathered around Mugabe's succession plan," Sikhala said.
"Already the CIO around all provincial stations are working hard to have Grace Mugabe enter the political fray by making sure that she replaces Oppah Muchinguri as the Women's League leader after their December congress, so that she will have a loud voice in the succession equation."
Sikhala said the, "Amai Mujuru, Mnangagwa episode will become the Trotsky debacle where everyone expected him to take over after the death of Lenin as he was second in command only for Stalin to bolt from nowhere to take over.
"So our really nemesis will be Gideon Gono than those who have been perennially touted. Bet with me it will be advantage MDC. My predictions have always been vindicated and at this present moment Grace Mugabe is going to have a strong say on the destination of who our opponent will be."
