A 37-YEAR-OLD Chitungwiza teacher allegedly raped his Grade Seven pupil in a storeroom and threatened to suck her blood if she reported the abuse.
The teacher committed the offence after ordering other pupils to leave the classroom.
The man was not formally asked to plead to rape charges when he appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Mr Lazarus Murendo last week.
He was remanded to May 9 on $50 bail.
Prosecutor Mr Tendai Mukariri alleges that on April 2 at around 12pm, the man tasked the minor and her classmate to pack books in the storeroom.
The man then raped the girl after tearing her uniform.
The court heard that after committing the offence, the man threatened to suck the girl's blood if she revealed the abuse.
The matter came to light when the girl visited her aunt in Rusape who observed that she was having difficulties in walking.
The minor narrated her ordeal leading to the teacher's arrest.
