'Mugabe must earn more'

President Robert Mugabe must earn more in salary in order for government workers to justify their demand for better remuneration, said labour activist, Raymond Majongwe.
In reactions to revelations of Mugabe's salary, opposition parties called for the Zanu-PF leader to reveal the allowances he gets from government if he is to convince citizens that his government is ready to fight corruption.
Majongwe said Mugabe's salary is however not an issue, but the belief as workers is that he should actually be earning more than $4 000 he is said to earn so that teachers have justification to demand better working conditions and a living wage.
