A man yesterday told a Harare magistrate that his abusive wife attacks him with a knife and bottles whenever he tries to reprimand her for wrong-doing.
Sengai Mukosa claimed his wife Cecilia Murembwa was in the habit of insulting him using obscene language in front of their children.
This emerged at the Harare Civil Courts where Mukosa was seeking a protection order against Murembwa.
"Each time I try to peacefully reprimand her she becomes violent and grabs a knife and bottles while assaulting me. Right now as we speak I have scars all over the body as a result of her assaults.
"I have lost dignity before my children as she always insults me with obscene language in their presence."
Murembwa refuted the allegations as fabrications.
Magistrate Ms Gamuchirai Siwardi granted the protection order which bars Murembwa from verbally or physically abusing Mukosa.
