MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai today visited two women who were severely assaulted by suspected Zanu PF activists after yesterday's Epworth Rally in Harare.

The two,  Tambudzai Kalandi and  Florence Motsi, are admitted at the Avenues Clinic.

Kalandi is in the intensive care unit after sustaining suffered multiple body injuries including a broken leg, while Motsi sustained severe head injuries.

Tsvangirai said Zanu PF was in behind the attacks to destabilise the party.

"What is important to emphasize is that when Zanu PF sees people on the roll, it turns to its default mode which is violence, fear and intimidation. We need to recognize that the MDC is a popular movement while Zanu PF has a challenge of converting their harvest of fear, violence and intimidation into popularity," he said.

Tsvangirai said even in the face of violence, the party would continue to engage the people.

Fourteen people were injured in the brutal attack when Amos Midzi set his thugs upon the people who were dispersing from the MDC rally.

Tsvangirai was accompanied by the Party's Shadow Minister for Home Affairs, Lillian Timveous, Organising Secretary Nelson Chamisa and Pumula legislator Albert Mhlanga.
