A domestic feud turned ugly after a 22-year-old man from Chirumhanzu fatally struck his brother with a burning log following a misunderstanding over eggs.

A crate of 30 eggs costs $5, which means one egg costs roughly 17 cents.
Midlands police spokesperson Inspector Joel Goko confirmed the incident which occurred on April 29 .
"We are investigating a case of murder in which a 22-year old man fatally assaulted his brother following a short misunderstanding over eggs," he said.
Insp Goko said on the said date, Lucas came back home after a beer drink and started accusing his younger brother's wife of stealing three eggs from him.
"Lucas allegedly hurled insults on his brother's wife resulting in Liveson intervening to defend his wife," he said.
"A heated argument ensued between the two brothers resulting in Liveson withdrawing a burning log from the fire and striking his brother once on the head. Lucas managed to escape and took to his heels but his brother caught up with him and struck him with a stone once on the chest. Lucas fell down and became unconscious."
Insp Goko said Lucas was rushed to St Theresa Mission Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
