MDC factions headed for a bruising legal battle

The MDC factions could be set for a bruising legal battle after Speaker of the National assembly Jacob Mudenda referred them to a competent court.
The MDC Team led by Tendai Biti had written to Mudenda saying the MDC-T secretary general was the authority to speak on MDC-T legislators following the suspension of party leade Morgan Tsvangirai and members of his to executive.
MDC-T vice president Thokozani Khupe then wrote to Mudenda informing his that Biti and nine other legislators who suspended the party leadership at Mandel training Centre had been expelled from the party.
However, in his judgement today, Mudenda said what was raised by the two factions was not the business of parliament but that of a competent court.
