Man threatens to kill ex-wife

A Harare man stabbed his ex-wife with a knife on the chest in 2011 and is now threatening to stab her fatally for daring to end their relationship.
Nyasha Tsandikwa claimed at the Harare Civil Courts Tuesday that her ex-husband Norman Mabhandi was threatening to kill her using the same knife he used in 2011.
Tsandikwa was seeking a protection order against Mabhandi.
"I ditched him because he was in the habit of physically and verbally abusing me," she said.
"I escaped death by a whisker in 2011 after he stabbed me with a knife on the chest during a misunderstanding."
Mabhandi did not show up at the court.
Magistrate Ms Gamuchirai Siwardi granted the protection order by default. The order bars Mabhandi from physically or verbally abusing Tsandikwa and says he must stop threatening her.
