MDC-T official faces $174 000 counter lawsuit

Three top MDC-T officials in Mutare have filed a combined $174 000 counter lawsuit against party Councilor Chrispen Dube accusing him of making false assault charges against them and causing them arrest in the run-up to last year's general elections.
Mutare Mayor Tatenda Nhamarare, former Housing minister Giles Mutsekwa are all claiming $50 000 each for deliberate disrespect and discomfort suffered during trial for the assault matter and an additional $8 000 each for legal costs.
The three filed the claims at the High Court on April 15 this year following their acquittal by a Mutare magistrate.
