Confusion has rocked the trial of Lloyd Kusotera who killed a four-year old boy while fleeing from police.
Kusotera initially pleaded not guilty to culpable homicide charges, but on Thursday he changed his plea.
Kusotera again changed goal posts and has pleaded not guilty at the time the court was expecting to hear his mitigation.
His lawyer alleged that his client was being forced by unidentified police officers to plead guilty to the charges.
He further claimed that these officers visited his client in remand prison.
Meanwhile, the court has ordered the state to investigate the claims by the accused.
Kusotera's commuter omnibus knocked down 4-year old Neil Tanatswa Mutyora after trying to evade police officers who were on duty.
Meanwhile, the trial date has been set for the 12th of June this year.
