A Mirror reporter, Tawanda Homba was injured last Sunday while he was trying to gain entry into the MDC-T provincial headquarters where a meeting to elect new leadership was being conducted.

The MDC-T does not seem to have a clue on how to deal with the media as another Mirror reporter, Artwell Wikirefu had to leave the venue empty handed after waiting to enter the from 9am up to 4pm without success.

The MDC-T, is a party that has always made Press freedom a national agenda.

The party did not even issue a statement after the meeting.

Newly elected party spokesperson, Dust Zivhave said he was aware of the complaints that had been raised and promised to ensure that the media would not be barred from reporting on party activities.

Homba was injured at the gate as pushing and shoving by the party security started.

After gaining entry into the venue, Mirror reporters were ejected out by the party treasurer, Femias Chakabuda who promised to readmit the reporters back into the venue after the elections but never did.

Chakabuda also barred reporters from just taking pictures of the provincial council going through a meeting.
