A JOURNALIST with the state media based in Bulawayo has accused a Member of Parliament from the Welshman Ncube-led MDC faction of infecting her with HIV.
The weekly Standard newspaper reported that the journalist, who was not named, reported the case at the Bulawayo Central Police Station on Saturday.
The reporter accused the legislator who represents a constituency in Matebeleland South province of failing to disclose his HIV status adding she had since learned that he also lost his wife to an AIDS related ailment.
She claimed that she had tested negative at the start of their relationship back in 2009 but later discovered that she had become infected after which she confronted her lover.
"I tried talking to him but he was evasive and would insult me using text messages," she told the newspaper.
She claimed the MP had refused to cooperate and instead insulted her insisting she was just angry because he had decided to end their relationship.
Sources close to the MP told the newspaper that he felt the saga was part of an elaborate honey-trap organized by the country's spy agency to tarnish his image.
