Baby dumped in blair toilet

An unknown Chipinge woman recently dumped her baby in the toilet in Chisumbanje.
The incident happened in Mutumburi village under chief Garahwa. Chipinge district police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Blessing Kadzuraumera said on May 12 around
0700hrs Jairos Zikuyana was on his way to Save River when he decided to relieve himself in a Blair toilet at Madhuku Business Centre.
"When Jairos entered the Blair toilet he heard a baby crying in the toilet pit.
"He then went to the village head Mr Edison Danga, and reported the case before alerting the police. The police and villagers retrieved the baby alive from the toilet," said Mr Kadzuraumera.
The baby was immediately taken to St Peter's Hospital where upon arrival was later transferred to Chipinge District Hospital.
"We are appealing to the public to supply the police with any information which might lead to the arrest of the culprit," Assistant Inspector Kadzuraumera said.
