MDC-T Kuwadzana legislator Nelson Chamisa has called for the retirement of Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) boss Mariyawanda Nzuwa and Registrar General Tobaiwa Mudede as they are too old and need to make way for more vibrant civil servants.

Debating on a motion by MDC legislator Priscilla Misihairabwi Mushonga on the welfare of civil servants, Chamisa said there was no greater incentive for civil servants than raising them to senior positions.

"We need to make sure that all those civil servants who are too old for the profession are removed or retired so that we allow upward mobility, it is an incentive

"We have Mr.Tobaiwa Mudede for example, who has been there for a long time. We have Mr. Mariyawanda Nzuwa for example, who have been there for a long time, I think they are even beyond the retirement age," Chamisa said.

"As an incentive to our civil servants, let them give way to the young ones so that we can also have a new Civil Service who will be able to contribute meaningfully to the upward development of our Government.

"Mr. Speaker, there is no better incentive than to give that incentive of promotion, that incentive of the hope of these other junior civil servants to understand that they can also serve their Government at the higher levels. It is a very important element.
