The legal feud between Dr Munyaradzi Kereke and Dr Gideon Gono will now proceed in September following a meeting of the parties.

A copy of a letter from Chief Registrar, Walter Chikwanha confirms that following a meeting held between the Chief Justice and the parties in the matter, it was agreed that the hearing be held between the 17th and 18th of September this year.

The Chief Justice is said to have also informed the parties' lawyers to address during the hearing the issue of joining of the Prosecutor General and the Commissioner General of the Zimbabwe Republic Police.

The counsels for the parties agreed to draft a pre-hearing minute on the issues raised.

In the main application before the Constitutional Court, Dr Kereke is seeking to compel the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) and the Zimbabwe Republic Police to investigate and arrest Dr Gono on allegations of theft, corruption and fraud committed at the time he was at the helm of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ).

Dr Gono and the ZACC counter contend that Dr Kereke's application is based on malice and that the former advisor to the RBZ governor does not deserve to be heard as he approached the court with dirty hands.
