Govt broke: Civil servants to get May pay on 5 June

Civil servants pay day which had been scheduled for this Thursday has further been deferred to the 5th of June.

Sources within the banking sector say they received calls earlier this evening from  Salary Service Bureau (SSB) which pays civil servants advising them that due to a liquidity crunch they will not be paying their workers this Thursday as previously advised.

Civil servants were initially meant to be paid last Thursday but had their pay day moved.

Pensioners who include war veterans who were due to be paid on the 5th of June are likely to have their pay day affected.
