MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai has reportedly failed to settle a bill amounting to $2 600 at a medical institution where he had been admitted.

According to the ZBC, sources close to him, the former Prime Minister could not raise the required $2 600 in medical bills in what analysts say is evidence he has hit hard times.

Mr Tsvangirai was admitted at the Trauma Centre in Harare on Saturday the 24th allegedly suffering from a mental-related ailment.

He is said to have been discharged on Wednesday afternoon, but it is not clear who picked him up from the Trauma Centre.

A green Mercedes Benz which is suspected to have picked him up was spotted at his gate along Kew Drive in Highlands not long after he had been discharged.

Guards manning his gate were in panic mode when they saw a passing ZBC vehicle.

Contacted for comment, Tsvangirai's spokesperson Luke Tamborinyoka responded via a text message saying he was in a meeting.

Analysts have attributed Mr Tsvangirai's financial troubles to the withdrawal of donors who are accusing him of abusing funds.

The MDC-T leader has not only hit hard times financially, but also politically as his party has been torn apart by an internal rebellion.

Mr Tsvangirai has also been abandoned by his customary wife Elizabeth Macheka.
