State controlled ZBC News on Tuesday claimed that Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai's office is in possession of more than £3 million, which is meant to fund operations of the private media in tarnishing the image of President Robert Mugabe.
ZBC News claims to have carried out investigations which have revealed that some sections of the private media allegedly turned to "bootlicking Tsvangirai to get a slice of the British cake."
The state controlled media claims that Tsvangirai is alleged to have appointed Minister of State in his office, Mr Jameson Timba as editor of a media project to orchestrate the anti-Mugabe campaign.
State controlled media sources claiming to be close to the development told ZBC that Mr Timba is alleged to be the brains behind the £3 million project. ZBC claims these funds are being used to sell some newspapers very cheap, given the costs involved in importing newsprint.
According to ZBC News, private media journalists are being flown around the globe to write articles denigrating Mugabe.
