'Madzibaba' sentenced for impersonating a police officer

A Warren Park D man appeared Monday before a Harare Magistrate facing impersonation charges after posing as a police man on photographs that appeared on various social media forums.
The accused Robert Boyiboyi (36), pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared before Harare Magistrate Ndaba Tsatsawani.
Tsatsawani sentenced Boyiboyi to three months imprisonment or $100 fine for the offense.
Boyiboyi was being represented by his lawyer, Tungamirai Chakurira in the judicial proceedings.
According to the state prosecutor, Patience Chimusaru, Boyiboyi is self-employed as a barber man at Beauty World Saloon, Westlea shopping centre Harare.
Between March and June this year Boyiboyi was at the saloon when a customer brought a ZRP grey shirt for alteration by a tailor within the salon.
Boyiboyi wore the shirt and asked one Progress Tirivangasi to photograph him. On June 3 this year the picture circulated on various social media including facebook and whatsapp.
