A jilted Harare man is demanding a $2 500 reimbursement from his former girlfriend following the collapse of their relationship, the Civil Court heard yesterday.
Golden Kandawasvika wants Mavis Sunday to repay all the money he squandered on her when their relationship was rosy.
Sunday is now seeking a protection order against Kandawasvika at the Civil Court.
"I am now living in fear of this man as he is coming to my place of residence and workplace causing violence claiming money that he gave me before our relationship turned sour," she said.
Sunday said she co-habited with Kandawasvika but later decided to leave him last month as he was abusive.
"He started demanding his money after I told him that I was no longer interested in the relationship," she said.
Sunday wants Harare magistrate Ms Babra Masinire to stop Kandawasvika from visiting her at work or home.
Kandawasvika denied the allegations.
"She is lying we did not separate in May as she alleged because that time we were still staying together," he said.
Kandawasvika claimed Sunday ran away when he visited his wife in the rural areas.
"She lied before the court when she said I am demanding $2 500 from her. I never demanded money from her but I just reminded her of the money which I used to give her during our good times," he said.
Magistrate Ms Masinire granted the protection order barring Kandawasvika from verbally or physically abusing Sunday.
