President Robert Mugabe and Information Minister Jonathan Moyo somewhat buried the hatchet following a critical tense and often explosive meeting on Monday evening.

The meeting also included Presidential Affairs minister Didymus Mutasa and Central Intelligence Organization director general Happyton Bonyongwe.

Mugabe's spokesperson George Charamba confirmed the meeting but declined to comment on or reveal the outcome.

The Independent claims that it understands the meeting was at Moyo's request after public accusation that he is divisive, retrogressive and counter revolutionary within the party.

It's said Moyo wrote a response to issues he was being accused of which include appointment of editors to the state media who are alleged aligned to opposition parties.

Operations of the Information and Media Panel of Inquiry (Impi) were also discussed with Moyo quizzed on the purpose and motive of the body.
