Man strangles his mother over money

Shingai Hamunakwadi from Nyanga, Zimbabwe allegedly strangled his mother Clara Hamunakwadi after accusing her of misusing money.
He then tied her dead body on a roof truss with a piece of nylon cloth and tried to deceive the police that Clara had committed suicide.
However, during their investigations cops realised that Clara was murdered.
Deputy Manicaland provincial spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Muzondiwa Clean, said upon being quizzed by the police, Shingai later confessed that he murdered Clara.
"During our investigations, we realised that Clara's feet were standing on the ground yet she had purportedly committed suicide.
"Her feet were supposed to be up. Shingai is assisting us with investigations," he said.
Asst Insp Clean said Shingai on the day in question had chased away people who had come to visit Clara who was not feeling well and was bedridden.
"Shingai had a long time dispute with Clara over rental money from their Norton house. He strangled his mother using a nylon piece of cloth and shoved her into a granary hut. He locked her into the hut and proceeded to Sedze Business Centre.
"He came back at around 8pm and took the dead body to her bedroom. He tied her onto a roof truss with a nylon piece of cloth. He then called police and told them that Clara had committed suicide," he said.
