Mugabe under fire over trip
16 Jun 2014 at 06:01hrs | Views
Economists have slammed President Robert Mugabe's two day trip to the G77 China summit in Santa Cruz dela Sierra in Bolivia saying he is displaying his boundless energy for the world stage whilst the economy continues to fall.
Economist Takunda Mugaga said not much is expected for Zimbabwe from the G77 gathering but however said Mugabe is under economic pressure that he can't be seen shunning such a gathering considering there are a few relevant platforms where Zimbabwe is invited.
Economist Eric Bloch said the G77 escapade will not resolve the deepening challenges facing Zimbabwe, despite being a step forward.
