Drama at courts as mapostori denied entry

Members of the Johane Masowe Budiriro cult who are facing charges of public violence caused drama at the Rotten Row Courts on Monday when they were denied entry by police officers after coming clad in short trousers.

The accused persons had come for their routine remand hearing but were denied entry by police officers at the magistrate court resulting in their defence council filing an application.

Only formal dressing is allowed under court systems in Zimbabwe.

The accused filed an application seeking the court to allow them to be in their short trousers arguing that it is their right since it is the dictate of their own religion.

The vapostori sect members are facing charges of public violence after they assaulted police officers; members of the Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe and seriously injured ZBC cameraman Relax Mafurutu.
