Mapostori released

Seventeen members of the Johane Masowe weChishanu who are facing charges of public violence and were granted bail last Thursday by the High Court were yesterday released from custody after paying the $100 surety.

The Vapostori lawyer, Obey Shava who successfully filed for the granting of bail for the remaining sect members in custody told the court that the state had not yet given clarity on the order given by Magistrate Douglas Chikwekwe for a thorough investigation on assault allegations raised by his clients.

Seven of the 24 Vapostori and 12 who were granted bail yesterday are still in custody while efforts are being made to raise their bail.
