A HARARE haulage driver fatally stabbed a man he caught being intimate with his wife on the couple's matrimonial bed.
Neddy Kwatale (32) also stabbed and injured his wife, Dudzai Takarino.
Kwatale, who is employed by a Zambian company, arrived home unexpectedly and caught Takarino having a good time with an airtime vendor, Elias Munjoma (29).
Kwatale and Takarino have four children.
The incident occurred in August last year in Hatcliffe but Kwatale had been on the run and was only brought to court on Friday last week.
He is facing murder and attempted murder charges. He appeared before magistrate Mr Donald Ndirowei and was remanded in custody to July 4 with instructions to apply for bail at the High Court. The lower court has no jurisdiction to award bail in such matters. Mr Nathaniel Chigoro is representing Kwatale.
Prosecutor Mr Farai Gatsi alleges that on August 18, 2013 at around 9pm Munjoma, who lived in Waterfalls, visited Takarino in Hatcliffe.
This happened when Kwatale had reportedly gone on a business trip to Zambia. The court heard that Kwatale returned home unexpectedly and caught the lovebirds in an uncompromising position.
It is alleged Kwatale produced a knife and stabbed Munjoma twice following an altercation. Munjoma fled the scene bleeding profusely, and later died.
