MDC-T needs new strategies to dislodge Zanu PF

MDC-T Harare spokesperson Obert Gutu says the party has to come up with new strategies to dislodge Zanu PF that is hell bent on retaining power by whatever means.

Gutu was responding to recent statements by Zanu PF national chairman Simon Khaya Moyo that the party would rule until donkeys grow horns.

"We are going to rule for a very long time. We will rule until donkeys grow horns.Come 2018, all seats in Matabeleland will be in Zanu PF hands. Let's work to strengthen the party and that would be through showing respect among each other at all levels," said Khaya Moyo at a meeting of Zanu PF Matabeleland region leadership.

"When very senior operatives within Zanu PF openly boast that they will continue to rule Zimbabwe until ‘donkeys grow horns' we should start getting very, very concerned and extremely worried," Gutu said.

"Personally, I don't have good vibes about Election 2018. It cannot continue to be business as usual. Fore-warned is fore-armed."

Gutu said Zanu PF was going for broke.

"Some of us are fed up playing perpetual opposition politics. We have to up the game. What do these guys know that some of us don't know?

"A fundamental paradigm shift thus becomes an unavoidable option. Dialectical materialism demands and indeed, dictates that new situations call for new strategies," Gutu said.
