Speaker blocks fuel scam probe

Speaker of the National Assembly Jacob Mudenda has moved to block a parliamentary probe into the $3 million CMED botched fuel deal, stating that the matter is sub-judice.

Chairperson of the parliamentary portfolio committee on Transport and Infrastructural development Amos Midzi said his team had been barred by the Speaker who ruled that the matter should not be further discussed since it was now before the High Court.

Midzi alluded that they were not going to do anything about the whole issue since the Speaker ruled it was not to be discussed.
