'Baba Jukwa' suspect's brother arrested on appointment

There are unconfirmed reports that Phillip Kudzayi, brother to Sunday Mail editor Edmund Kudzayi, has been arrested.

Police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba said Phillip handed himself to the police in the company of his lawyer, Admire Rubaya.

Chronicle editor Mduduzi Mathuthu twitted this evening that Phillip Kudzayi was arrested by appointment for "attempt to commit act of insurgency."

According to court documents, Edmund Kudzayi with "his elder brother  Phillip Tawanda Kudzayi and others who are still at large and hatched  a plan to overthrow the Government of Zimbabwe by unconstitutional means in the run up to the 31st July 2013 Zimbabwe General Elections. 

The accused created a gmail account called babajukwa2013@gmail.com using an econet line 0771446541 registered to Philip Tawanda Kudzayi which line is being used by him. The said gmail account was used to create a Facebook account called Baba Jukwa."
