Mum throws baby out of moving car

23-year-old mum, Lasasha Allen from Louisiana, US, allegedly tossed her 20-month-old toddler from a moving car, critically injuring the child, in a sick bid to get the attention of the child's father.
She reportedly opened the passenger door and shoved the child out of a car going 45 mph on a rural road near her home in Winnsboro early Sunday.
Franklin Parish Sheriff's deputies caught up with her at a local hospital at round 1:30 a.m. after ER staffers reported the child's horrific injuries.
After questioning, Allen was arrested and charged with attempted murder.
Police said the act was a bizarre and demented attempt to get a reaction from the child's father.
On Saturday, Allen called the man with a story that the child had fallen from a car window.
When she didn't hear back from him, she staged the event, hoping the child would suffer cuts and bruises and thus cover up her lie, police said.
Another child, 7, was in the backseat at the time and witnessed the event, KTVE-TV reported.
"She arranged it, basically staging this event to where it would look like an accident," Franklin Parish Sheriff Kevin Cobb told the station.
The child was in stable condition at a hospital Shreveport, where it was scheduled to undergo surgery, Parish said.
Allen was charged with attempted second-degree murder and was being held at a Franklin Parish jail on $750,000 bail.
According to the station, she has five other children all of them were in the custody of child services.
"One thing is certain. The child is in a safer place today than in the hands of the mother. Justice can't move quickly enough in this," Cobb told KTVE-TV.
"I hope that everyone will pray for that child and its siblings through this ordeal," he added.
