Mugabe appoints senior civil servants

President Robert Mugabe has made new appointments in the Civil Service Commission, Health Services Board, Local Government and the Office of the President and Cabinet.
Dr Mary Margaret Muchada is the Deputy Chairperson of the Civil Service Commission with immediate effect.
She was appointed Zimbabwean ambassador to Belgium in 2010.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics, post-graduate Diploma in Social Work, a Masters degree in Social Studies and a PhD in Development Communications.
Others promoted are Dr Elizabeth Xaba, who is now the Deputy Chairperson of the Health Service Board.
Dr Xaba was the Director of Health Services at Gweru City Council.
She has a Doctorate in medicine degree and a Master of Science in Community Health in Developing Countries.
Engineer George Mlilo is now the Secretary for Local Government.
Engineer Mlilo was the City Engineer of the City of Gweru in 1983 and later transferred to Bulawayo City Council.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, a Bachelor of Science in Urban Economy and Planning and a Masters in Business Administration.
Mr James Jonga has been appointed Permanent Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet in charge of the District Development Fund and related infrastructure development.
In 1983, he was the Director Operations in the District Development Fund and became the Director General in 1991.
Mr Jonga holds a Bachelor of Administration degree, a Bachelor of Science in Political Science, and a Master of Science in International Relations.
