No plans to cut teachers' pay over holidays

A top civil servants representative has dismissed as mere speculation claims that the government plans to scrap teachers' pay during school holidays.
Teachers comprise the bulk of government's 230,000 work-force which the Zanu-PF administration is struggling to pay amid reduced tax revenues in a failing economy.
However, Richard Gundane, chairperson of the Apex Council - the umbrella body for civil servants associations - has assured teachers that they would continue to get paid during school holidays.
