Baba Jukwa does not feed me

The Jukwa story rumbles on. Edmund Kudzayi, who holds the unenviable distinction of being known as both Amai Jukwa and Baba Jukwa, remains in custody 14 days after his arrest.

It is all academic at this point but perhaps Edmund Kudzayi should have known this was bound to happen. Apart from annoying the president, Kudzayi's appointment would have ruffled the grizzled feathers of more experienced colleagues who had been eyeing the editor's job.

Editors are supposed to have beer bellies, framed photographs of grown-up children and hairlines that have receded from years of correcting bad grammar. But here was 28-year-old Kudzayi, seated in the big office and still living with his parents.

Anyhow, he is not alone behind bars. His brother, Phillip, arrested on the same allegations last week, keeps him company.

Didymus Mutasa, referred to on social media as Mr Gamatox, wants Edmund Kudzayi to name the government ministers who fed him classified information that was leaked on the Baba Jukwa blog. Even if these ministers were named, nobody really knows what Mutasa intends to do about them.
