ZUJ condemns arrest of female Daily News journalist

The Zimbabwe Union of Journalists (ZUJ) has described the recent detention by Police of Daily News reporter Helen Kadirire as both unacceptable and a disgrace to Zimbabwe.

"The Union would like to urge authorities to intervene in an environment where journalists continue to be harassed while doing their work," ZUJ said in a statement.

 Kadirire was last week detained by Police in Mutoko, while on assignment with the Zimbabwe Environmental Law Association (ZELA)
