A Chitungwiza man, Innocent Mhondera (22) appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Ms Olivia Mariga for allegedly stabbing a fellow patron at a drinking spot after an argument over Alick Macheso's new album.
Mhondera reportedly stabbed a reveller with a broken bottle on the neck and left him for dead.
Prosecutor Luke Mutupe told the court that on February 19 this year at around 2050 hours the complainant, Edward Svotwa, was drinking beer at Forward Bottle Store with his brothers Stanford and Sydney when the incident occurred.
Mutupe told the court that Stanford had some misunderstanding with the accused and the complainant restrained them.
He said that the disc, which was being played, was not sounding well, which made the complainant to request for a change from the bar attendant while Mhondera opposed the idea. Mhondera became angry and he broke an empty bottle and stabbed the complainant on the neck before he fled.
The complainant's brothers later apprehended and handed him over to the police.
A medical report was produced in court as exhibit.
