More woes for Gumbura

A Harare magistrate yesterday dismissed imprisoned cleric Robert Gumbura's application for acquittal ruling that the disgraced pastor has a case to answer.

Magistrate Fadzai Mtombeni ruled against the accused in a matter where the cleric is facing a female congregant now based in South Africa.  

Gumbura is being accused of raping the congregant with the help of his secretary Tendai Ganyani.

In her ruling Mtombeni said the has proved a prima facie case against the two accused persons and have to put their defence on July 23.
