A COMMERCIAL sex worker who recently made headlines when a Kwekwe-based soldier died at her house has fled Ngundu business centre in Masvingo after she was blamed for the death.

Gloria Wunganai confirmed her departure from the busy Mavingo-Beitbridge stopover saying business had gone down with clients deserting her after the tragic event.

"I could not continue to live in such a place where I am treated like a dog," she said.

"I did not kill anyone, but the public and my colleagues call me a soldier killer.

"Many clients are no longer interested in me because they are being informed of the tragic incident.

"My friends are now using my case as a way of getting clients, but what I understand is that such tragic incidents can befall anyone."

The 26-year-old sex worker said she was had moved away from Masvingo province.

She added: "I am now out of the province and I will not tell anyone of my whereabouts as it'll not be good for my business in the mere future, but I will not go back to Ngundu," she said.

Her close pal Hlakani Mhlanga confirmed her friend's departure and claimed relatives of the dead soldier Pesanai Nyowani allegedly threatened to deal with her after the burial.

A post mortem report from Masvingo General Hospital revealed that Nyowani died from hypertension and diabetes.
