Stolen Zimbabwean diamonds recovered

Government says all diamond stones were recovered in Dubai after an attempted theft with the culprit having already been arrested by authorities in that country.
In a statement the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development, Professor Francis Gudyanga said attempted diamond theft from the ongoing Dubai tender facility occurred on the 22nd of July and the authorities swiftly reacted and apprehended the culprit and all stones were recovered.
Professor Gudyanga said investigations revealed that the apprehended individual, his family and business associates are well known to the diamond buying and selling community of Harare.
Government believes the resolution of the matter in Dubai is critical towards dealing with the black market syndicate and its operations in Zimbabwe and beyond.
