New twist to Bosso Nyaradzo bus; 'Bosso has no qualified driver'

The bus donated to Bulawayo soccer giants Highlanders by Nyaradzo Funeral Services is parked in Harare and not collected because Highlanders has not been able to send a qualified driver to go to Harare and collect the bus.

This revelation was made by the new Highlanders Chief Executive Office Mr Ndumiso Gumede in a wide ranging interview on ZBC SFM's programme Hot seat on Tuesday evening. According to Gumede the bus is parked at Nyaradzo Funeral Services head office in Harare cleared marked in the team's colours and logos but only waiting collection.

Answering a question from the programme moderator if the non delivery of the Highlanders bus was anything political, Gumede quashed off the political connotations to the none delivery of the bus claiming that Nyaradzo finished all their requirements to deliver the bus to the Bulawayo giants who have failed to collect the bus on their own fault.

"I spoke to Webster Chikengezha the managing director at Nyaradzo who is also the secretary at Dynamos and he told me that they have been waiting for our driver to come to Harare and be trained on how to drive the bus," said Gumede.

Gumede also added that it is has been difficult for Highlanders being 400 km away from Harare to go to the capital to press Nyaradzo for the delivery of the bus unlike Dynamos and CAPS united who are in Harare who have already received their buses. Justifying the delay in the collection of the bus Gumede described the bus as a state of the art bus which needed very special skills to drive and was certain even members of the Highlanders executive would envy to take a ride in the bus.

"We are not talking of a simple bus here, you can already tell what kind of a bus that is if we have to send a specialist driver to collect it in Harare. We don't want to get to a situation where the bus is brought to Bulawayo and rots at the offices because the driver can not manoeuvre the bus," added Gumede.

The issue of the Highlanders bus has been a talk since the beginning of the season when Nyaradzo made the donations to the country's top football teams under its score pack funeral policy. Several Speculation have been making rounds in the media about the Highlanders bus to an extent that some fans and media have attributed the matter to politics and some even claiming tribalism.

A number of Bosso fans as Highlanders is known have been claiming that the Highlanders family has been refusing to receive the bus as long as it is written the Shona word Nyaradzo a story that left many shell shocked for a reason. Some sectors claim that the club's main sponsors Bancabc have not been kin to have Highlanders receive the bus and use it without their name marked on it a situation which some sources claim Nyaradzo won't accept. Others claim that the bus has not been accepted by Highlanders because it is not of the same quality and class as the one given to Dynamos.

Efforts to get comment from Chikengezha of Nyaradzo Funeral Services could not be obtained as he was still not yet in the office at the time of writing this article.
