Mujuru lauds Mugabe

Vice President Joice Mujuru has paid tribute to Zanu PF's First Secretary and President, Robert Mugabe for his visionary leadership.
The candidates who participated in the elections attended celebrations to mark the first anniversary of the landslide victory which saw the revolutionary party reclaiming some of the seats previously won by the MDC-T in the 2008 elections.
Addressing the gathering at State House, Vice President Mujuru paid tribute to Mugabe's visionary leadership.
The party's parliamentary candidates who won in the 31st July, 2013 elections have expressed confidence that they will deliver what they promised the electorate.
Zanu PF won two thirds majority in parliament and some of the party's parliamentary candidates who won the elections, including Matabeleland North candidate Cain Mathema said the party has already started implementing what it promised the electorate.
Sarah Mahoka of Hurungwe East constituency in Mashonaland West province said the party is working hard to fulfil its promises to the electorate.
Zanu PF parliamentary candidates won 160 seats while the MDC-T won 49 seats in elections that were declared free, credible and reflecting the aspirations of the Zimbabwean people by the African Union.
Zanu PF party garnered 2 110 434 votes against MDC-T's 1 172 000 votes, while President Mugabe was re-elected beating four other contestants who were vying for the presidency.
The elections were the first to be held under the new constitution which was approved in a referendum in March 2013.
